ABOUT US

What Is a Shared Services Network?

Shared Services Network is not an entity, rather it is a way of work that supports and enables focused collaboration between decision makers, service providers, and families. The goal of the Shared Services Network is to improve student achievement through collaborative community effort. It is designed to meet diverse needs of children and their families through the best use of community resources. Most importantly, it links the school district with support and social services agencies to accommodate efficient delivery of services.

Executive Roundtable

Composed of elected officials, and appointed chief executives of major governmental agencies, this forum or roundtable group provides a mechanism for dialogue and community problem solving. It serves a public policy function necessary to the success of collaborative efforts. The roundtable helps identify priorities and strategies which are functional and "do-able".

Community Collaborative Council

This group is composed of administrators and leaders with expertise in planning, funding, and providing services for children and their families. It functions by stimulating change at the policy and direct-service level through collaboration and issue identification and analysis. The council provides information and solutions to the Roundtable. This group may also function in ad hoc situations through sub-committees.

Student Assistance Program

Each school in the district has a Student Assistance Program team to assist students and their families in solving problems that affect their child's progress in school. The Shared Services NEtwork assists the team through the Facilitator when resources are needed that the school cannot supply.

"The key to a successful Shared Services Network is helping to link all interagency groups that already exist in the community."
